About Emily
My path toward psychotherapy was shaped by a deep belief in the power of connection, compassion, and understanding. Growing up in rural Newfoundland, I witnessed firsthand how mental health challenges can influence the way people navigate life. These experiences helped me recognize how meaningful and transformative supportive relationships can be during difficult times. Since then, I have been committed to becoming someone others can turn to for support, understanding, and a safe space to explore their experiences.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and am currently completing the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In addition to my clinical training, I work on the frontlines in a transition house supporting individuals experiencing intimate partner violence. This work has provided me with a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and a deeper understanding of the complex impacts of trauma and abuse.
I take a collaborative and integrated approach to psychotherapy, drawing on modalities such as ACT, CBT, and parts-work. I have experience in supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, attachment patterns, and communication barriers. Together, we will create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and respected.
